Section 1 - Little Miss Contest

**Monday, August 17, 5:30 p.m. Midway Stage**
Contest Rules:
" Open to the first 15 entries
" Open to any Franklin County girl 7 to 10 years of age, by June 1
" Must be sponsored by a local club, organization, business, individual, ect….
" Entry fee of $10 to be paid by sponsor
" Contestants will be judged on:
" Biography
" Questionnaire
" Prepared Introduction
" Impromptu Question
" "Favorite Fair Animal" Drawing
" Personal Appearance
" Attire for Contest:
" Blue Jean jumper, dress or skirt and nice top. No shorts.
" Dress shoes. No Flip Flops.
" No make-up will be allowed.
" All outfits must be approved by committee
" A MANDATORY meeting will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30pm.
Please bring your Drawing, sponsor name, entry fee, Biography, 3 wallet size
pictures, favorite recipe and contest outfit.
" Contest Rehearsal will be held Sunday, August 16 at 1pm at the Midway Stage.

" Entry forms can be found in the fair book. All entries must be postmarked by
August 1, 2009. Entries should be sent to the fair secretary.

" Contestants will be judged on:
" Biography
" Questionnaire
" Prepared Introduction
" Prepared 2-4 min. speech on "Why Should You Attend the Franklin
County Fair"
" Impromptu Question
" Personal Appearance
" Attire for Contest:
" Sundresses or like. Should be knee length
" Dress shoes. No Flip Flops.
" Make-up is limited to powder and lip gloss
" All outfits must be approved by committee
" A MANDATORY meeting will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30pm.
Please bring your sponsor name, entry fee, Biography, 3 wallet size pictures,
favorite recipe and contest outfit.
" Contest Rehearsal will be held Sunday, August 16 at 2pm at the Midway Stage.

" Open to any single female Franklin County resident 16 - 20 years old by June 1
" Must be sponsored by a local club, organization, business, individual, ect….
" Entry fee of $20 to be paid by sponsor
" Contestants will be judged on:
" Biography
" Questionnaire
" 300 word or less essay on "Three Ways I Will Promote the Franklin County
Fair as Fair Queen."
" Private Interview prior to competition
" Prepared Introduction
" Prepared 3-5 min. speech on " Why I Think County Fairs are Important to
Pennsylvania. "
" Impromptu Question
" Personal Appearance
" Attire for Contest:
" Business Attire for Interviews
" Prom or Evening Gown for Wednesday stage contest
" Dress shoes. No Flip Flops.
" Make-up is at your discretion
" A MANDATORY meeting will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30pm. Please bring
your Essay, sponsor name, entry fee, Biography, favorite recipe and 3
wallet size pictures
" Contest Interviews will be held Sunday, August 16, starting at 1:30pm at the Fair
Office
" Contest Rehearsal will be held Sunday, August 16 at 3pm at the Midway Stage
" The 2009 Franklin County Fair Queen will be required to compete for PA Fair Queen in
January in Hershey
