Fun at the Fair! Photo Contest

New to the 2009 Franklin County Fair is a week long photo contest to capture Fun at the Fair by submitting photos of this year's fair events, contests, contestants, visitors and volunteers.
You don't need to be a professional photographer to get a great picture for this contest; you just need to be there to photograph a great moment and turn it into a memory.
Entrants do not need to pre-register for this contest and it is NOT connected with the regular fine arts photo competition exhibited with the clubhouse entries.
Photos will be accepted at the fair office during normal hours of operation anytime during fair week August 16-22.
Deadline for entries is 3:00 p.m. Sauturday, August 22, 2009.
The top entries will be showcased on the Franklin County Fair website and be considered for next year's fair book.

Fair visitors will be encouraged to view all entries and place a vote for the People's Choice Award on Saturday, August 22, 2009.
This Contest is sponsored in partnership with Photo Gem of Greencastle, PA, and the People's Choice Award winner will receive a Canon A-series Digital Camera, compliments of Photo Gem.

The rules are simple:

1. Photos must be taken at the 2009 Franklin County Fair and convey an image of the theme: Fun at the Fair
   
2. Photos must be submitted as 5X7 color prints only, without frames or matting. A sticky label must be attached to the back of each photo with the entrant's name, age, address and phone number.
   
3. Entries will be judged in three age categories:
   Ages 10 and under
   Ages 11 to 17
   Ages 18 and over
   
4. Entries will be accepted at the fair office during normal fair hours between August 16-22.
5. Entries will be exhibited for public viewing as they are received during the entire fair week.
6. Deadline for entries is 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2009.
7. All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and winners will be selected based on the how well they communicate the theme Fun at the Fair and suitability of the images for promoting the Franklin County Fair. First, second and third place winners will receive ribbons and awards sponsored by Photo Gem and have their work showcased on the Franklin County Fair website and be considered for the 2010 fair book. The decision of the judges is final.
   
8. The People's Choice Award winner will be selected by popular vote cast at the fair between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Saturday, August 22nd. The People's Choice winner will also be featured on the website and will be awarded a Canon A-Series digital camera sponsored by Photo Gem.
   
9. Winners will be announced at 9:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2009.
10. Winners will be asked to sign a photo release giving right-of-use permission to the Franklin County Fair. The photographer retains the rights to the photo.
    
11. Fair officials reserve the right to refuse entries that do not meet the criteria or that are otherwise deemed inappropriate.
